Gummy bear shot

Would you imagine that we can turn the classic gummy bears into a delicious boozy drink?

With raspberry vodka, lemon-lime soda, peach schnapps, and sweet and sour mix, this beverage becomes one of the most delicious options we can have at a party with our friends or when we want something sweet that gives us a boost of adrenaline.

There are two varieties: white gummy bear shots and colored ones! Both are almost the same and have the same ingredients, but we have to add white gummy bears instead of the classic ones.

However, we’ll learn a bit more about this version with white gummy bears later!

Why Try It

Colored or White Gummy Bear Shot Ingredients

What I love most about this recipe is that I can throw back a gummy bear shot in no time with just a few ingredients!

Understanding Every Ingredient

Now, let me help you understand each ingredient so you can choose the best options or find some substitutes that work well.

Raspberry Vodka

This liqueur is not a must in the gummy bear shot recipe. Actually, you can use any fruity vodka, such as cherry vodka or orange vodka.

Personally, I recommend raspberry-flavored vodka because I’ve tried it and think it’s the best alternative! It gives this drink a delicious and sweet taste, whether you are preparing a classic or a white gummy bear shot.

However, you can use whatever variety of vodka you have as long as you like it!

Lemon-Lime Soda

If there is an ingredient I think cannot be missing in this recipe, it’s lemon-lime soda. Again, you can use the brand or type you like the most.

The lemon-lime soda adds a touch of fizz to this drink that you will love. As soon as it hits your tongue and slides down your throat, you’ll want to take more and more gummy bear shots.

Sweet & Sour Mix

We also need to add tangy quality to this drink! The best option to achieve this goal is the sweet & sour mix.

You can use any variety you find at any local store. However, there’s a homemade version we can make to save a few pennies.

If you want to make a sweet & sour mix at home, just mix equal parts of lime juice and simple syrup.

Peach Schnapps

Another of the key ingredients in this recipe is peach schnapps, a popular liqueur that will add an intense fruity flavor to our drink.

Also, the peach schnapps is a great mixer and gives our shots a refreshing twist – yes, we can make our gummy bear shots perfect for a day at the beach or pool!

Gummy Bear Garnish

I can’t say too much about the gummy bears because you already know them, but there’s something I can recommend: adding them as a garnish.

We all love to have a delicious shot with a snack, right? In addition to the gummy bears we’ll use in the main preparation, we can also add some to garnish our magical and sweet drink!

If we are preparing white gummy bear shots, we would only have to look for white gummy bears (unless we want to give a little touch of color to the shot glass).

Substitutions

Do you want to prepare a colored or white gummy bear shot, but you don’t have all the ingredients? These are the substitutes you can use:

  • If you don’t have the sweet and sour mix, make your own (find the short recipe above)
  • Make alcohol-free gummy bear cocktails for those who want a quieter night (you only have to replace the liquors with fruit juices)
  • Use triple sec instead of peach schnapps
  • If you’re making white gummy bear shots, replace the traditional candies with colorless ones

Tools

Once you have all the ingredients or their substitutions, we should also look for the right equipment to make the best white gummy bear shot. These are

  • Shot glass (or shot glasses if you’re making more than one)
  • Cocktail shaker
  • And that’s it!

White Gummy Bear Shot

Did you know that you can also make a white gummy bear shot if you want a colorless alternative for a themed party or another special occasion? You can learn how to do it here!

How to Prepare White Gummy Bear Shots

We only need the same ingredients, including peach schnapps, lemon-lime soda, and sweet and sour mix, but you should look for white gummy bears.

For a slightly different twist, we can also add one oz of cranberry or pineapple juice (this option alters the color less) since the white gummy bear flavor is the same as the one we make with colored candies.

White Gummy Bear Martini

Moreover, you can make a white gummy bear martini by mixing 3 oz of raspberry vodka, one oz of sweet and sour mix, and 2 oz of peach schnapps.

Then, you only have to stir the mixture or use the cocktail shaker, strain it, and pour it into a martini glass (it’s not necessary to add white gummy bear candies as a garnish here).

Jello Shot

If you want something a little riskier than the white gummy bear shot, you can make a jello one!

How to prepare it

In this case, you have to prepare a mix of regular jelly, add all the ingredients (except the lemon-lime soda), and pour it into shot glasses to let them solidify in the refrigerator.
