Gummy bears will forever be a childhood favorite, cherished by millions around the world. If you want a taste of nostalgia with an adult twist, white gummy bear shots might just do the trick. This white gummy bear shot recipe is a perfect way to get the party started! If you are not in the mood for white gummy bear shots, you can enjoy them over ice cubes as a refreshing cocktail instead.

About White Gummy Bear Shots
This is one of the easiest shots you will ever make and it is quite delicious. I particularly love the double punch of lemon-lime flavor that comes from the combination of sweet and sour mix and lemon-lime soda.
The alcohol component comes from the raspberry vodka/peach schnapps combination, which is a very potent mixture. Do not let the innocent-sounding name of the white gummy bear shot fool you, this is still a strong shot and you need to drink responsibly.
There is a lot of flexibility regarding your choice of soda, so you can use store-bought soda, sprite, or 7up. Sweet and sour mix is also readily available in shops but I prefer to make my own, and I will show you how.
An essential part of any cocktail is the garnish, and that is the case with this white gummy bear shot as well. White gummy bear garnish is the common choice with this recipe, but any other color would look just as great.
There are two popular ways of using the gummy bears as garnish; either skewered on the rim of the shot glasses or dropped right into the drink.

What Is in a White Gummy Bear Shot?
White gummy bear shots are made of four basic ingredients besides the gummy bears. You will need a sweet-and-sour mix, lemon-lime soda, peach schnapps (peach pucker), and raspberry vodka.
It’s Named After White Gummy Bears
The moment you see the gummy bears that are used as a garnish for the white gummy bear shot, you will know why it is named after this childhood treat.
However, the name is also a reference to the fruity flavors that are so evident in each white gummy bear drink.
In terms of color, a white gummy bear shot is clear or “white” just like white gummy bears.
It is also the white gummy bear flavor that is dominant over all other flavors unless you decide to add your special twist to the traditional white gummy bear shot recipe.
Tools Needed To Make This Shot
If, like me, you are a fan of making your homemade version of different shots and cocktails, you probably have all the tools that you need to make this recipe. To will need:
- Cocktail Shaker
- Strainer (if your cocktail shaker doesn’t already have one)
- Jigger
- Shot Glass (or martini glass for one of the variations)
- Cocktail picks for the garnish

When To Serve the Gummy Bear Shot
This is a great-tasting shot that doesn’t need an excuse for you to whip one up. However, if you want to know which occasions you can make a white gummy bear shot for, here are a few examples:
- BBQs
- Cocktail hour drink at the bar
- Get-togethers for family and friends
- Girls’ or guys’ night drink
- Parties
- As an after-dinner drink on any day
- Birthdays
- New Year’s Eve toast
- Game day shots
- Happy hour drink at a friend’s house
- Bachelorette Parties

The Gummy Bear Shot Has a Great Taste
This white gummy bear shot is so well-balanced that you can taste the hint of each of its ingredients.
That means it tastes just like candy because of the fruity white gummy bears, but also has undertones of the two liquors, sweet and sour mix, and lemon-lime soda.
Although it does taste like a fruity vodka shot, the pineapple flavor of the white gummy bears is masked by the other ingredients. If you want something less fruity, the pickleback shot will always get the party started!
If you want that distinct taste, you will have to add a bit of pineapple juice to replace the sweet and sour mix.
If you are a fan of sweet-tasting shots, this white gummy bear shot will hit the spot. The raspberry vodka and peach schnapps do sneak up on you though, so be careful with this dynamite shot.

Variations
Like all my favorite shots and cocktails, the white gummy bear shot allows you to play around with various ingredients, such as raspberry vodka or peach schnapps to make it taste a bit different each time you make it.
The following are the most common variations that you can try out:
Ditch the Raspberry Vodka
With such a long list of vodka shots available, you probably have one or two types that you may want to try besides raspberry vodka. Feel free to do so because this drink recipe is very flexible.
Try the following options:
- Absolut vodka if you enjoy a straight vodka
- Smirnoff vodka for a much stronger raspberry vodka taste
- Cîroc red berry vodka if you have a sweet tooth
Lemon Lime Soda Mocktail
As we mentioned before, peach schnapps and raspberry vodka can hit you pretty hard if you are not careful.
You can try a non-alcoholic mocktail by adding your gummy bears to a variety of beverages, such as a combination of sprite, cranberry juice, and peach juice.
Sweet and Sour Mix White Gummy Bear Cocktails
Make the popular sweet shot in the normal way, but this time add a lot more sweet and sour mix to your shot glasses.
This will dominate all other flavors of this raspberry-flavored vodka shot.
Try Alcohol-infused White Gummy Bears (Boozy Bears)
If you want an express trip to gummy bear heaven, try a few boozy bears and you will not regret it.
Place your gummy bears in a mixing glass or bowl and add your vodka. Let it stand for at least 12 hours until the bears are swollen up and filled with vodka. You can use these as party favors or garnish.

White Gummy Bear Martini
You can alter the ingredients a bit to make a white gummy bear martini. All you will need to do is add ice to a martini glass and pour in each of the following:
- 1 1/2 ounces of raspberry vodka
- 1/2 ounce of lemon-lime soda
- 1/2 ounce of sweet and sour
- 1 ounce of peach schnapps
Colored Gummy Bears
Try the following collection of colored gummy bear shots:
- Red gummy bear shots using cherry vodka
- Melon liquor to make green gummy bear shots
- A pink gummy bear shot recipe made from watermelon schnapps
- Blue gummy bear shots using blue Curacao
White Gummy Bear Shot Recipe Tips
Here are a few tips to turn up the heat on a fun girls’ night:
- Switch up the alcohol by using peach vodka instead of peach schnapps and raspberry schnapps instead or raspberry vodka
- Add a bit of simple syrup to make the drink even sweeter
- Use gummy worms instead of gummy bears
- Add pineapple to create a pineapple-flavored vodka shot
- Homemade sweet and sour mix is the best option
How To Make Sweet and Sour Mix
I much prefer to make my sweet blend of the sweet and sour mix by mixing the following ingredients:
- 1 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Final Word
